[edit] Formation

After the club was confirmed a place in the Nottinghamshire Combination football league the next step was to assemble a competitive squad. It soon became apparent that there were not enough interested young Ukrainians so it was agreed the club would be open to everybody. However in order for the club to retain its Ukrainian identity, they play in Ukrainian colours, have a Ukrainian badge and the clubs headquarters is the Federation House Ukrainian Social club.

[edit] Club History

Below is an account of how the club has progressed since it's formation.

[edit] Season 03/04

The managerless team had a difficult start to their inaugural season after being allocated a place in the leagues Premier division alongside a host of already established clubs. After losing a number of consecutive matches it was clear action had to be taken in order for the side to keep their Premier division status intact.

The club, under the leadership of Stefan Moroziuk decided the way forward was to find sponsors and a manager. A manager in the form of Damian Harrison was appointed and major sponsorship was secured through local businessman Slavko Kuchta's companies Hotel Huzul and Elite Travel Kyiv, along with further backing from the Federation House social club. These factors along with a few new faces in the squad gave the team a fresh impetuous, which saw an improvement in league form leading to Premiership survival, which was deemed a great achievement in the clubs inaugural season.

[edit] Season 04/05

After an encouraging pre-season and the appointment of Roman Semak as assistant manager, Trident started the season with a lot of optimism. This was reinforced with a great start to the campaign including an eight match unbeaten run. Later on the season a culmination of injuries and suspensions to key players unfortunately led to a dip in consistent form, but the team recovered to improve on their first season and finished in 7th position.

[edit] Season 05/06

This season saw a re-shuffle within the coaching team with Roman Semak appointed manager, Pete Kupranec names as assistant and Damian Harrisson as head coach. In typical Trident fashion, this season was as inconsistent as ever. One week Trident would beat the league leaders, the next they would lose to a team fighting relegation. Never in danger of getting relegated and never looking like achieving anything Trident's season slowly fizzled out after the New Year and they finished in a respectable 9th position.

The end of the season was rather disappointing for the club with unreliability creeping in and the difficulty to attract new players to participate in a Sunday morning league. The decision was made to make the big move to Saturday afternoon football.

[edit] Season 06/07

After reviewing the options, Trident applied for a place in the highly regarded and well established Notts Amateur Alliance league. After attending a meeting Trident were eventually accepted in the league and were given a place in the Premier division for the 06/07 season. This is a great step forward for the club, although it will be a challenge to be competitive at this higher level, it is a challenge everybody at the club is looking forward to .. the Trident story continues !!!
