Tricolpate (an adjective):

  • tricolpate pollen has three or more pores set in furrows called colpi.
  • referring to the "tricolpates". In the APG-system, the names tricolpates and eudicots refer to one of the most important groups of flowering plants. This group has tricolpate pollen, or forms derived from it. See eudicots.
