The Tri-City Herald is a McClatchy newspaper based in Kennewick, Washington, in the United States, that serves the local Tri-Cities area of Washington, as well as all southeastern Washington, even as far south as Hermiston, Oregon. It is the only major English-language newspaper in Washington east of Yakima and south of Spokane. The paper features local and national news, opinion columns, sports information, movie listings, comic strips, and other typical pieces of information. It has served the Tri-Cities area since about 1950.
[edit] Trivia
- In a letter to the editor, a local reader noted how the Kennewick Man appeared to always be a busy man, usually in headlines or stories in the paper, even though he is actually nothing more than a skeleton. The newspaper commonly uses the phrase "Kennewick man" to describe a male from Kennewick, as opposed to the remains found on the Columbia River.
