Snake gourd or serpent gourd is variusly known in India (e.g., in Bengal it is called Chichinga) while pointed gourd is called potol there and parwal in North India. The site [1] shows pictures of all the varieties available worldwide. The page on Trichosanthes may be made into a Redirection page with links pointing to snake gourd and pointed gourd.
