How is a 3 state buffer designed? Is it just a transistor? Fresheneesz 10:23, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
I can think of at least two ways of implementing it at the transistor level: Below is a picture I made of those two possibilities. EN is the enable control input. The first implementation is basically just a "pass-gate" and the second is an un-staticized latch.
