Trey Azagthoth
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Trey Azagthoth (born George Emmanuel III March 26 1965 in Bellingham, Washington) is an American musician best known as founder and guitarist of the Florida death metal band Morbid Angel.
Azagthoth is an admitted fan of Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix. His playing reflects his influences, particularly in his Van Halen-like use of the whammy bar. However, he is responsible for a number of innovations in his genre, such as the use of triplets and of chords other than the fifths and tritones that predominate in extreme metal. His non-musical interests include anime, video games and using his alien-ware laptop.
