Trevor Thomas is a Birmingham-based radio broadcaster, currently heard on radio stations both in the Midlands and nationally as a traffic and travel news presenter for the Trafficlink organisation.
[edit] Career
Thomas' professional career began in 1990 when he became both an in-store radio host and also a travel news presenter, working for the now defunct AA Roadwatch.
That led to a position at KFM and Signal Cheshire and a subsequent move to Sunshine 855 in Shropshire, during which time he also secured weekend presentation duties at The Bay in Lancashire. In 1995 a move to Northern Ireland beckoned, to take on the breakfast show on Q102.9, before a return to Britain to join the fledgling Silk FM in Macclesfield in 1998.
Thomas left his position as Programme Controller at Silk FM in 2002 to assume the same role at 107.1 Rugby FM, appearing as the station's first voice on-air, and fronting the breakfast show until he left the station less than a year later to join its Warwickshire neighbour, The Bear 102.
Trevor enjoyed a lengthy spell with The Bear 102, spending two years hosting the station's drivetime show and becoming Deputy Programme Controller. In a schedule reshuffle in mid-2005, he moved to an evening timeslot before leaving the station at the end of the year, prior to The Bear 102's relaunch as Touch FM.
In 2006, Thomas joined Trafficlink's Birmingham operation as a broadcaster and its Weekend Co-ordinator, in a hark back to his early career as a presenter for AA Roadwatch, and has regularly been heard nationally on TalkSPORT as well as locally on numerous BBC and commercial stations fronting travel news updates. Trevor has also been heard freelancing on Star 107.5 in Cheltenham since his departure from The Bear 102.
