[edit] 1476: Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse
Trevor is the main character of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.
When Lisa, Dracula's second wife, was condemned to death by the Inquisition (she was convicted on the grounds of being a witch, Dracula's hatred for humanity grew exponentially, and six years later, he started his war with humanity.
The people of Wallachia had previously exiled the Belmonts out of fear for their supernatural powers. When Dracula began plaguing the land, however, they realized that a Belmont was needed. They found Trevor Belmont, the current hunter in the family. Trevor wielded the Vampire Killer, an enchanted whip that had the power to destroy all related to the vampires.
During Trevor's journey in Transylvania, he was joined by three allies: Grant DaNasty, Sypha Belnades and Alucard. With their help, he defeated the demon army and killed Dracula. Because he was the first man to destroy Dracula, the Belmont family's reputation was restored in Wallachia.
Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades later married and had children. Their union only strengthened the Belmont bloodline as the descendants came to inherit the magical powers of the Belnades clan. Juste Belmont was the first Belmont to display the power of the Belnades bloodline's genes with his formidable spellcasting abilities.
[edit] 1479: Castlevania: Curse of Darkness
Throughout the game, he has a cautious, friendly rivalry with Hector, the game's protagonist. When they first meet, Trevor distrusts Hector for being a Devil Forgemaster, a previous servant of Dracula, and a battle ensues. Trevor defeats Hector and mocks him for being a weak ally of Dracula. However, he begins to believe Hector's story that he is indeed no longer working for the evil Count. Afterwards, Trevor becomes a cautious ally, working behind the scenes. He later confronts Issac, another Devil Forgemaster, in the Aiolon Ruins, and battles him. When Hector arrives on the scene, Issac retreats. Trevor warns Hector not to interfere and leaves. Shortly after, Hector discovers a secret room in the Abandoned Castle. Another battle with Hector ensues, and after Trevor concedes, he once more becomes Hector's ally, giving him the key he needs to follow Isaac into the secret chambers beneath the castle: a Belmont's blood. Trevor is later wounded by Issac in a surprise attack and is unable to accompany Hector. In the meantime, Hector defeats Dracula.
[edit] Trivia
- In the Captain N: The Game Master cartoon, during the episode "Return To Castlevania", Trevor Belmont is the great-grandfather to Simon Belmont. As with most Captain N stories, this is not consistent with the original series, as Trevor Belmont existed over 200 years before Simon, which would make him more likely Simon's great great great grandfather.
- In Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, he is mentioned several times in the story from the introduction, Alucard, and even his own descendant, Richter. Also a doppelgänger takes the shape of Trevor Belmont, as well as Grant and Sypha. All three are bosses. The doppelgänger forms of Trevor, Sypha, and Grant also reappear as a secret boss battle in Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.
- What the "C" in Trevor's name stands for is unknown. But some speculate that it stands for "Christopher", a reference to Christopher Belmont from CVA.
- Trevor's doppelgänger from SotN can use the sub-weapons, including the cross, which is now made out of bones. It leaves a trail of blood when thrown.
- In Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, Trevor has a scar on his left eye. He received this when battling Dracula according to the Curse of Darkness manga.
