Tregaron

Tregaron is a market town in Ceredigion (Cardiganshire), mid Wales, lying on the river Brennig a tributary of the River Teifi. According to the UK Census 2001, the population of Tregaron equated to 1,183 people. Also, the census reveals that 68.8% of the population speak Welsh fluently, with the highest percentage of speakers being fifteen years, where 100% are able to speak Welsh.

Notable buildings in the town include the thirteenth century Talbot Hotel, which has an elephant buried in its grounds and the parish church. Cors Caron (sometimes called Tregaron Bog), known for its adders, buzzards and red kites, lies nearby.

Famous people from Tregaron include Henry Richard, and the so-called Welsh Robin Hood, Twm Siôn Cati.
