Trefeca
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Trefeca (also in the following forms: Trefecca, Trevecca, Trevecka) was the home of Howell Harris one of the foremost leaders of the Welsh Methodist revival.
In 1750 Harris established a Christian community there known as Teulu Trefeca (The Trefeca family). Selina, Countess of Huntingdon established a theological seminary there in 1768 which transferred to Cheshunt in 1790. It was later to become a home for a theological seminary of the Presbyterian Church of Wales or Calvinistic Methodist church.
Today it is a residential retreat centre ("Coleg Trefeca") of the Church.
