Treaty of Baden

The Treaty of Baden was the treaty that ended hostilities between France and the Holy Roman Empire, who had been at war with one another since the War of the Spanish Succession. It was signed on September 7, 1714 and complemented the Treaty of Utrecht. This treaty allowed France to retain Alsace, and gave the bank of the Rhine river to Austria.
