Treaty of Aranjuez (1777)

The Treaty of Aranjuez was signed on June 3, 1777 between the French Empire and the Spanish Empire. Based on the terms of the treaty, France and Spain agreed to define their colonies on the island of Santo Domingo. All colonies were to be marked by monuments for identification.
