[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Gnagyimage1.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Gnagyimage1.jpeg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. enochlau (talk) 05:12, 19 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Martin A. Uman

I'm moving the article back to "Martin A. Uman". Wikipedia naming convention is that an article on a person is titled with just their name, not their title. It makes the article easier to find when searching. Thanks, NawlinWiki 22:32, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] List of American artists

I am sorry to undo your work but this article has previously been deleted at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of American artists and should not be recreated unless there is a substantial difference to the original. You can read suggestions regarding it in the AfD. I suggest discussing any proposals on Talk:List of American artists. You might like to involve Wikipedia:WikiProject Visual arts. Tyrenius 23:26, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Despite the above message, you have simply recreated the article without any discussion. Please don't do this again in breach of the AfD decision. Also there is no authority to bar red links from an article. Tyrenius 00:42, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

If a user leaves a message proposing discussion, then it is best to discuss first, before acting, as this is a collegiate project. I do not object to a list in itself, merely the form in which it existed. The British list in date sections is much better. The original US list had no date sections. I think your new version was a great improvement, so well done on that, but I'm not happy with just one section for the twentieth century. This section will be by far the biggest and it will also attract all the non-notable entries. I think it needs to be broken into smaller segments, possibly of 25 years each. Please also post on Wikipedia:WikiProject Visual arts to involve the views of editors who are likely to be helping to maintain any such list. Let's get a consensus before setting something up which people might not be happy with. If you didn't keep a record of your new version, I can retrieve it if/when necessary.
