Travis Jeppesen

Travis Jeppesen (born September 4, 1979 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is an American novelist and poet. He grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and moved to New York City at the age of 17. He received his B.A. from Eugene Lang College, New School for Social Research (now The New School). He also studied literary translation at the University of Paris III: Sorbonne Nouvelle and was mentored by Bruce Benderson. Jeppesen moved to Europe in 2001. He currently divides his time between Berlin and Prague, where he edits the literary journal BLATT.

Jeppesen's first novel, Victims, was selected by Dennis Cooper to debut his "Little House on the Bowery" series for Akashic Books in 2003. Poems I Wrote While Watching TV, a collaboration with painter Jeremiah Palecek, was published by BLATT Books in 2006. Jeppesen's latest novel, Wolf at the Door, will be published by Twisted Spoon Press in 2007.

In addition, Jeppesen's work has been anthologized in The Edgier Waters (Snowbooks, 2006) and the forthcoming The Offbeat Generation (Social disease, 2007).

Travis Jeppesen's critical writings on art and literature have appeared in Flash Art, New York Press, Bookforum, The Stranger, and Zoo Magazine. He also served as an editor at the Prague Pill and the Prague Literary Review, and is a contributing editor to 3:AM Magazine. He frequently writes about music for dorfdisco.de.
