[edit] Shows
[edit] The Breakfast Club
Butler's debut program was on the SYN program The Breakfast Club. The program aired on Saturdays at noon from 12pm to 1pm. The show debuted on the 1st of January, 2005, and continued until the 19th of February, 2005. Presented alongside Phil Clark and Shannon Wakeham, the show featured a light entertainment format. Ken Vaitekunas, originally a fourth co-host of the show, left four episodes into the series due to personal reasons. The series finished after eleven episodes, after which the three were quickly picked up for Channel 31's SYN TV.
[edit] SYN TV
Butler's television debut was on SYN TV, on Melbourne's Channel 31. The three debuted on SYN TV on 10 May, 2005, and continued until 20 December, 2005. Presenting the Tuesday night edition, the three hosts presented such segments as The Quiz Of Doom, a quiz segment between the hosts to determine who was "smarter, and therefore better", and The Hit List, a segment where the hosts rant to the camera about something that had been annoying them, followed by the phrase "you're on my hit list". This was later used as evidence against them for assaults involving angry motorists, ticket inspectors and emos.
After series one, Shannon left the program due to personal reasons, leaving Clark and Butler to present the program on their own. At this time, the format was altered slightly: while The Hit List remained, The Quiz Of Doom was replaced with Would You Rather?, a segment where two differing solutions to the one situation were offered to the audience, and the 'correct' answer was decided by SMS vote. Butler also introduced a more prominent role for the program's mascot, Angus the Cat, with the segment Angus: To The Xtreme!!. This segment was axed when it was proved that Angus was in fact not 'extreme'.
Clark and Butler recieved the SYN 90.7 Best SYN TV Team award for 2005 for their roles as hosts on SYN TV. Allegations of rigging due to bribes have still not been quashed.
[edit] New&Approved
Butler began hosting SYN's flagship new music show, New&Approved, on 15 September 2005, and continued presenting the program until 19th May, 2006. Butler cited 'other projects' as the reason for this, however was instead photographed holidaying in the Bahamas for the whole duration of his break from radio. Speculation has persisted as to whether this move was 'forced'.
[edit] Sketchy At Best
A new 'best of' style comedy show which is airing on SYN over the summer from December 27th is 'Sketchy At Best'. The show is the brainchild of, and is solely produced and compiled by Anthony McCormack and hosted by Butler. Sketchy At Best airs from 7pm Wednesday nights on SYN 90.7 FM.
[edit] Future
Travis hopes to host Quizmana in the near future with a view to becoming the next Shopping For Love host. As a result of this, he will accept an offer to compete on Dancing With The Stars as soon as it is made. He hopes his 'two right feet' will make him the quirky dark horse in the competition.[citation needed]
