From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Transcendental Etude No. 8 in C minor "Wilde Jagd" (Wild Hunt) is the eighth etude in the twelve Transcendental Etudes by Franz Liszt. Strong, supple wrists are required in order to overcome the many difficulties that the etude presents. It is considered to be one of the easier etudes in the set. Noted for required exceptional endurance and rigorous technical elements, the etude is powerful and challenging. Found in the ARCT listing of the Performer's selection, under 'etudes'.
It is in sonata form, with a first subject in c minor, second subject in c major, and a recapitulation in C. It is monothematic. That is, the second subject material is derived from the first subject material.
