Transatlanticism is an album by Death Cab for Cutie. It is their fourth LP and eighth record release. The album peaked at number 97 on the Billboard 200 Album Chart. [1] Tracks from Transatlanticism have been featured in several motion pictures and television shows, most notably HBO's Six Feet Under and FOX's The O.C. Transatlanticism has sold more than 225,000 copies. It is available on CD, SACD and Vinyl.

- A poster of the album cover hangs in the bedroom of The O.C. character, Seth Cohen, the poster boy for indie music. A copy of the album is part of his "starter pack" during the first Chrismukkah episode.
- "The Sound of Settling" is featured on the Wedding Crashers and Shop Girl soundtracks.
- The song "Transatlanticism" was played during the credits of Fourstar Clothing's skateboard video "Super Champion Funzone".
- This is the first Death Cab For Cutie album to feature Jason McGerr on drums. [2]

- Lyrics by Benjamin Gibbard. Produced, recorded, and mixed by Christopher Walla except "The Sound of Settling" and "Tiny Vessels" mixed by John Goodmanson. All tracks mastered by Ed Brooks at RFI. Benjamin Gibbard, Nicholas Harmer, Christopher Walla, Sean Nelson, John Roderick, and Phil Wandscher sang the group vocals on "Transatlanticism". Nicholas Harmer, Jason McGerr, and Rob Herbst provided foot-stomp and handclap effects for "The Sound of Settling".
