'Lady Tramaine Hawkins' is a Grammy-, American-, and Dove Award winner gospel singer who occasionally releases albums simply as "Still Tramaine".

Lady Tramaine Hawkins was born October 11th, 1951 in San Francisco, California. Lady Tramaine became apart of the Gospel move while singing with The Edwin Hawkins Singers Choir' with "OH HAPPY DAY" in 1968.

She then became into fame as a featured soloist with then-husband Walter Hawkins' in The Love Center Choir. She scored several hits as a solo artist in the '70s, '80s and 90s with "Fall Down," "Changed," "Goin Up Yonder," "Potter's House," along with many others.

Lady Tramaine was featured in MC Hammer's '90s pop-gospel hit "Do Not Pass Me By". Also, Lady Tramaine had the honor to sing at the funeral services of the late Sammy Davis, Jr, as well as beloved civil rights activist Mother Rosa Parks!

Lady Tramaine has been inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame. Lady Tramaine lastest deliver is a new album entitled I Never Lost My Praise-LIVE, produced by Kurt Carr and Jamie Hawkins (Tramaine's and Walter's Son)

While married to Bishop Walter Hawkins, the couple had two children a son, Walter "Jamie" Hawkins, Jr. and a daughter, Trystan Hawkins with one granddaughter, Jahve Hawkins and a daughter-in-law, Myiia "Sunny" Hawkins. Lady Tramaine has one step-son, Demar Richardson with two step grandchildren. Lady Tramaine currently resides in Sacramento, California with her husband, Tommy Richardson, Jr.

  • Tramaine sang at the funeral service of the late Sammy Davis Jr., as well as beloved civil rights activist Rosa Parks.
  • Hawkins was somewhat ostracized from her core gospel music audience when her album of dance-oriented contemporary gospel songs yielded the hit "Fall Down". Though the song became one of the earliest crossover gospel hits, the notion of a gospel song being played in dance clubs offended many of her traditional fans at the time.
  • Tramaine Hawkins was one of the first gospel artists to sign with Columbia Records when she released To A Higher Place in 1994.
  • Gospel trio Trin-i-tee 5:7 recorded a cover of Tramaine Hawkins' signature tune "Highway" which Tramaine also made a cameo appearance on.
  • Tramaine Hawkins was featured in MC Hammer's '90s pop-gospel hit "Do Not Pass Me By".
  • Tramaine was briefly a member of the '70s soul female singing group Honey Cone that later went on to record the hit song "Want Ads".
