Training and Enterprise Council

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Training and Enterprise Councils or TECs were local bodies established in England and Wales in the early 1990s to administer publicly-funded training schemes mainly for unemployed people. These included the Youth Training Scheme and the early Modern Apprenticeship. They were later merged with the Further Education Funding Council for England to form the Learning and Skills Council (LSC). The TEC offices (with some reorganisation) became the local offices of the LSC.
