[edit] Plot

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

With Julian being tired of Lucy always hitting on, such as giving him a mistletoe belt buckle so he bails Ricky out of jail for Christmas. Julian also gets very, as Bubbles said, greasy around this time of year. His festive scheme is to steal presents out of cars, steal christmas trees and sell them in the park, and hold a christmas light contest where you have to buy stolen lights from Julian and you can win a stolen big-screen TV. While all this is going on Bubbles is either knitting mittens, collecting wood for a bonfire, or shaking the present his parents gave him before they left which Bubbles refuses to open it until he is with his family. Bubbles eventually gets lonely and wants to join Ricky and Julian with their stealing just so he wouldn't be alone. While all this is going on Jim Lahey explains that his wife, Barb Lahey, doesn't like him drinking because he gets to drunk but allows him to drink once every christmas. Barb spends a lot of her holiday time volunteering down at the church. She says how important her work is there but all she is shown doing is making a trip for cheeseburgers. On this trip she meets up with a shirtless male prostitute dressed as an elf. She recognises the boy as a Randall, a boy who grew up in the trailer park. She takes Randy home with her so he doesn't have to live on the streets. Upon bringing Randy home she introduces him to Jim but Jim seems to know him as Smokey (Randy's name while he was on the streets), and Randy knows Jim as Simon. Jim tells Randy to ALWAYS call him Mr. Lahey. Randy does a bit of snooping for Mr. Lahey finding that all the christmas trees in the park are stolen. Lahey proceeds to call the cops and they come and confiscate the trees. In retaliation Mr. Lahey and Randy get hammered. Ray forces the boys to go to Christmas Mass where Ricky trys to sell hash out front. Lahey shuts off the power to every trailer in the park except for his while the boys are at mass. Lahey then goes to mass and makes a drunken fool out of himself. Barb then tells Jim that she wants a divorce. Ricky then goes up and gives his own sort of sermon where he says that Christmas is about getting drunk and stoned with family and friends. Ricky and Julian then go to see Bubbles who is trying to make himself a bonfire with a bundle of twigs. Ricky says that he can't have a bonfire with that, so they burn Mr. Lahey's Christmas decorations. Bubbles then says that he's going to burn the present that his parents gave him because it was driving him crazy, but Ricky stops him and tells him that he and Julian are his family and its ok to open it. It is a bubble maker and a letter explaining that leaving Bubbles was the hardest thing that they ever did, but some dangerous men were after Bubble's dad and that his parents didn't want to put him in any danger. At the end almost each main character does a monologue where they say that they are done with the bad habits they have (i.e. Ricky stop smoking and breaking the law; Julian, go to college and stop breaking the law; Bubbles, through with shopping carts and going to start selling mitts at the legion) although anyone who watches the show will obviously know that none of these will come true.

Spoilers end here.
