Traditional square dance
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Traditional square dance is the form of square dance most often danced as part of a contra dance event. It is most prevalent in New England, followed by Appalachia and the South. The style of dance is also known as a quadrille. It is distinguished from modern Western square dance by repeated figures and the frequent use of live music.
