Trading Yesterday is an American pop rock band formed in 2004 by former Evanescence member David Hodges. The band, signed by Epic Records, released their first single, One Day, in the summer of 2005. They have since left Epic and have remained an independent band. Their full length album titled More Than This was shelved permanently in 2006 and will never be officially released.

[edit] History
In 2000, David was asked to join Evanescence as the keyboardist/backing vocals for what would become the album, Origin. After Evanescence had finished recording Fallen in 2002, David left the band to pursue other musical interests.
Mark and David were having dinner at IHOP in 2003 and decided to start Trading Yesterday. They bought a protools rig, got an apartment together and began to record music. As time passed, Steven, who had a similar vision (both musically and spiritually) joined the band. Three songs were recorded for The Summit Church's second compilation album called The Genesis Project.
On May 15, 2004 Trading Yesterday had their CD release party for The Beauty & The Tragedy, an album they recorded in David's apartment. The CD sold out a couple months later and has become quite sought after amongst fans. As a result of the album, Trading Yesterday signed with Epic Records and the band moved to LA to record their major label debut album. In November, studio time for the new album was completed and the final string arrangements were recorded in December. Mixing for the new album was done in the first half of 2005.
The band's first single One Day was released in November, and their first label debut CD More Than This will be released at an unknown date.
On November 30, 2005 Trading Yesterday parted ways with Epic records. [1]
On February 25, 2006, Trading Yesterday's first CD The Beauty & The Tragedy was reprinted and is once again available to buy exclusively from their website.
On June 27, 2006 Trading Yesterday's drummer and co-founder Mark Colbert has opted to leave the band to pursue a career as an audio engineer. [2]
