Tracey Holmes

Tracey Holmes is an Australian TV and radio presenter, specialising largely in sport.

Holmes began working as a journalist at the ABC in 1990. She was the first female host of its sports program Grandstand.

From 1996 to 1998, she worked as a media advisor for the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG).

In 1998, she co-hosted SBS presentation of the FIFA World Cup. She appeared on the nightly World Cup Show during the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany

From 1998 to 2000, she worked as a sports presenter for Channel Seven. This ended in some controversy when her contract was terminated weeks from the 2000 Summer Olympics after an extra-martial affair with Stan Grant. She then moved overseas and worked as a sports broadcaster in Hong Kong and Beijing.

In 2006, Holmes returned to Sydney. She acted as fill-in presenter for Richard Glover's radio drive program on 702 during the 2006/2007 summer break. In February 2007, Holmes was appointed as the ABC Grandstand announcer taking over from Simone Thurtell who moved to ABC 1233 as drive presenter. Holmes is delighted to be back at the ABC and Grandstand, she was the first female host on Grandstand back in 1996.
