I have transcribed the information given at Leigh Rayment's page http://www.angeltowns.com/town/peerage/tcommons2.htm , which gives the MP in 1807 as "Sir Arthur Wellesley, later Duke of Wellington". However, this is obviously an error, as the first Duke was Member for Newport, not Tralee, from 1807 until he was raised to the peerage as Viscount Wellington in 1809. I recall it was not unusual for people to be elected as MP for more than one seat at a time. It's possible Wellesley was nominated for both and choose to sit for Newport, hence two elections in two months here. Timrollpickering 16:05, 15 Feb 2005 (UTC)
