1909 – The Lethbridge Viaduct (shown under construction), one of the largest railway structures in Canada on the Canadian Pacific Railway near Lethbridge, Alberta, opens.
1973 – The 16th Street Mission station in San Francisco's Bay Area Rapid Transit system opens.
1984 – Electrification between Kingston and Beenleigh in Brisbane is commissioned.
2004 – Progressive Rail leases former Wisconsin Central Railway track in northern Wisconsin and begins operations on the line under its subsidiary railroad, Wisconsin Northern Railroad.
