Category:Transwikied to Wiktionary

This category represents articles that have been transwikied to Wiktionary, but their eventual disposition in the Wikipedia is not yet clear. The pages listed are the article's talk pages. The eventual fate the article should be based on the actual text of the article.

The first thing to do with the articles in this section is to make sure that the article has been transwikied properly according to m:transwiki.

Do not delete or mark pages for deletion if the article has not been listed on the transwiki log or if the edit history has not been transwikied along with the article.

What to do with the article from here depends on the content in the article.

[edit] Pages that should be deleted

• Pages that are still only dictionary definition and can not become an encyclopedia article should have the article marked {{Delete}} for speedy deletion.
• Pages that have minimal encyclopedic value and negligible or non-existent content but do not qualify for speedy deletion should be added to Wikipedia:Votes for deletion.

Once the page is deleted the {{Transwikied to Wiktionary}} tag on the talk page should be replaced with the {{Transwikied and Deleted}} tag (which will take it out of this category). If the talk page was deleted along with the article you do not need to add the {{Transwikied and Deleted}} tag.

[edit] Pages that merit inclusion

• Pages that have evolved beyond dictionary definitions and warrant staying in the Wikipedia should have their talk page edited to remove {{Transwikied to Wiktionary}} and replace it with the: "{{Transwiki to Wiktionary Finished}}" (which will take the article out of this category).

If the Wiktionarians have moved the article out of the transwiki namespace on their end, you can feel free to add a {{Wiktionary}} tag to the article which will provide a link to the word in Wiktionary.
