Category:Traditional county of Monmouthshire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This category deals with Monmouthshire as a historic county of Wales. The considerably smaller modern principal area of Monmouthshire, which lies inside the historic county, has its own category.
There is no need to include localities within it or the county boroughs of Blaenau Gwent and Torfaen, or the city of Newport directly in this category, since they are automatically included via their own subcategories. However, the county borough of Caerphilly includes areas from the historic counties of both Monmouthshire and Glamorgan. Individual locations within that county borough need to be categorised accordingly. Parts from the historic county boundaries of Monmouthshire are now in England — see Welsh Bicknor.
