[edit] Problems with page history after moving

Sorry to bother you, but I just noticed you in the deletion log and I have a problem with deleted article's history showing up instead of the history of the article moved in its place, and I hope you'll be able to point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance. There was an article Jagiellonian University in Kraków with a redirect in Jagiellonian University. Someone removed the text in Jagiellonian University in Kraków and pasted it in the Jagiellonian University, and made Jagiellonian University in Kraków a redirect, removing the edit history in the process. I wanted to fix it so I first reverted those edits and then moved the old redirect from Jagiellonian University to Jagiellonian University (old redirect), removing the Jagiellonian University (so I could move the article there). Then I moved the real article Jagiellonian University in Kraków to Jagiellonian University, and there is a problem: the text was moved, but the history is the history of Jagiellonian University before deletion. The talk page is also the one before deletion. What can I do? I would like to at least revert everything to the consistent state from before I started to move anything about an hour ago. I will appreciate if you could at least point me to the right place where I can read how to fix it. Thanks a lot. Rafał Pocztarski 12:25, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

It seems to be OK now. Maybe I just needed to wait for the changes in the history to show up. Sorry for bothering you. Thanks. Rafał Pocztarski 12:48, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. If I ever have any more serious problems, it's good to know that I can ask you. Thanks. Rafał Pocztarski 12:57, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Al-Andalus

I and Gimferrer have been bothered by the pages made by Al-Andalus. We agreed that his pages are more of his opinions that gathered facts, especially on the colonial metality page wherein he even mentioned COUNTRIES and NATIONALITIES. Personally, I think this is NOT right since this is an encyclopedia and I think we should stick to the MEANING and not the the people / nationalities who practice it.

Sorry I didn't mean to flood. There's somthing wrong with my mouse. Apologies.

[edit] Chicago Manual Link!! and a policy question

Thanks sooo much for this useful link! I think I threw out my old copy in frustration... I do have a question...when one is working on a page, and one is jotting down notes & thoughts & the page is obviously under construction...does one leave a note indicating that?? allie 21:36, 31 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Rialtotower3.jpg

I've been tagging images (along with everyone and their brother) and came across Image:Rialtotower3.jpg. It had *no* tag, so I tagged it as {{unverified}}. Feel free to either let me know the correct tag and I'll change it, or you can do it when you get a moment. Thanks! --MaxPower 18:07, 2005 Jan 5 (UTC)

[edit] Central Park building

Hello. I noticed you changed Perth, Western Australia to say that Central Park is the fifth tallest high-rise building in Australia, rather than the fourth. Where did you get this information from? I use emporis.com as my main source for skyscraper-related information. Has a new building been constructed in one of the other cities since I wrote that paragraph several years ago? - Mark 08:18, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Wow, that's a pretty interesting site there. Emporis restricts access it its features like that to subscribers; I have pestered my university about subscribing, but being a law student my request has little sway.
I can see how the BankWest Tower may have its spire counted while Central Park may not have its counted, because the spire of BankWest is solid, while Central Park's is just the usual communications tower-style of criss-crossing steel.
I wrote the 'fourth tallest' comment in the middle of 2003, before construction on World Tower in Sydney was completed, so it was probably correct at the time, going by the height-to-roof measurement in the first diagram you provided. Thanks for updating :) - Mark 01:31, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Melbourne Premium railway stations

I was thinking that it might be appropriate to turn Premium station into a category instead of a page, given it is currently a big collection of station names. What do you think?

Should a premium station be in both categories, Category:Premium Melbourne railway stations and Category:Melbourne railway stations? I'm thinking yes, to ensure inclusion on both lists. Also, I have no idea which stations are Host stations; where can I find that info? Josh Parris 06:47, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
Okay, check out Ripponlea railway station, Melbourne, Gardenvale railway station, Melbourne and Elsternwick railway station, Melbourne, examples of Premium, Host and Other stations generated from different templates depending on station type. Feedback appreciated. Josh Parris 07:39, 12 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] MVMs

I decided to put the MVM information down there as it was being listed in some articles and I thought that it would be better to have it somewhere out of the way. Somebody in the WWW 07:03, 30 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sister Cities: List or Paragraph...???

User:Derek.cashman wants to change, and thinks, that all “Sister cities” lists in articles should be converted/changed to “paragraph” form. I don’t want to. Can you imagine a lists of 26 sister cities, like for Istanbul, and trying to read it in paragraph form? Please read my opinion and vote. WikiDon 04:27, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Minor edits

Hey TPK, Uni is over! :D Well, I hope it is for you, too.

Just a FYI: you might want to turn the preference "mark all edits as minor by default" off. Remember to mark your edits as minor only when they genuinely are (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). "The rule of thumb is that an edit of a page that is spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'."

[edit] Melbourne tram routes templates

Hey there. Im doing some work on tram routes (namely 78/79 at the moment) and im wondering if a template exists for use for each tram route, listing such things as surburbs traveled in/through, major road crossings and other transport interchanges... does this sound too complicated? I'm much for making one... Ssmessenger 03:10, 4 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re Leunig

hi Ian,

I'm fine with your reversion - I don't know how to do that stuff - the most recent edit was mine but all I did was take out perjorative and POVs.

are you in a position to help advocate a lock on this? I've put in a request on the appropriate page, but nothing seems to have happened and I'm a very newbie editor really.

[edit] Airspace Action on Smoking and Health

I created a new Airpspace page yesterday. I wasn't aware until now that a previous one had been deleted. I've left a negative comment about the freak who deleted it.
