Please consider creating articles rather than just creating links to non-existant articles. Once the articles exists, then you can create links to them. Also, I would definitely suggest using edit summaries. Otherwise other editors will say bad things about you behind your back or leave tacks in your chair when you aren't looking. Hi, Toya. I see the new page you've created. Two points:

The initial statement seems a bit subjective. I realize the topic is a bit subjective but new articles undergo a lot of scrutiny, and you should be prepared to receive comments about the page.

Another tip: I think your article would be much better served, and much more positively recieved, if you have something in it right from the beginning. One trick I use is, I wrote two very solid paragraphs, with a lot of research and detail, before I start a serious new article. Even have a link or two ready. This way people know you have done some actual work in advance, and are likely to show well-written results in little time.

What you have now is a stub, and it is going to come under attack -- fairly or not -- because there isn't really anything there.

Yes the Hebrew letter צ is pronounced "ts" by most Israelis, but since Aqsa is an Arabic word, and צ is similar to the Arabic ص, most Hebrew speakers I've heard pronounce it as Aqsa with a hard "s". Anyway I changed it back. Ramallite (talk) 17:32, 1 October 2005 (UTC)

Please leave the academic transliterations of Hebrew names intact—they are academic conventional spellings, not alternate spellings (which can be listed as "or Other Name", etc.). For Standard Hebrew in detailed academic contexts, ḥ is used for ח in all cases, and ḫ is used for soft כ in all cases. These are typical across Semitic linguistics studies. Thanks again for your contributions. Can I suggest that if you are going to create a page about the Commonwealth countries in WWII then it should be called Military history of the Commonwealth of Nations during World War II, although it should probably contain little except links to the individual military history articles for each country. If you are not intending to create such a page it is probably better to leave a link to an existing page (Commonwealth of Nations) rather than a non-existant page in World War II. Hi - "Palestinian National Authority" (PNA) is the complete official title, whereas "Palestinian Authority" (PA) is shorter but used commonly. Official documents are not consistent, many applications and certificates have PNA on them, but others (including the Palestinian passport and (תעודת זהות) only have PA. As you can tell, it is not very professional. However, to answer your question, PNA is the official correct title, and in the encyclopedia should be used instead of PA. I think "filastiniyah" sounds more proper than "falastiniyah" - to be honest the "fat'ha" or "kasra" (nequda) on the letter ف is something we learned in elementary school (and it's different depending on where a word is in the sentence - Arabic I'raab) and I don't remember the grammar rules right now, people say it both ways. But I think the proper pronunciation for a word that is after "tahrir" is with a kasra - "filastiniyah" . Ramallite (talk) 10:35, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

In "intifada", the first "a" is longer than the second "a", so when writing transliterations it makes sense to say "intifaadat" or "intifādat" to make it more clear. Question for you: in Oslo Accords you wrote "was nicknamed the "refusal organizations"" - who calls them "refusal organizations"? We call them "mu'aradah" which simply means "the opposition". Hi Toya: Please see and vote at Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2005 December 12#Category:Hebrew Bible at [2] where it is beeing suggested that the word "Tanakh" is "not neutral", and I am trying to explain to them that it is in keeping with NPOV to convey the way Judaism uses certain terms to describe the Hebrew Bible/Tanakh. I am not sure I understand. If we need to say West Bank for a specific reason, yes we say "the West Bank". But we refer to it as Palestine otherwise. For example; Where are you from? I am from Palestine. Where is Ramallah? North of Jerusalem in the West Bank in Palestine. It's like if you live in גוש דן, you still say 'here in Israel' or 'I am from Israel' or 'I am traveling to Israel'. Where exactly in Israel? the גוש דן region. It doesn't mean that the Negev is not part of Israel also. So it is very much dependent on context, but it is normal to say 'Palestine' unless there is a special reason that you need to identify it specifically. In Arabic it is spelled 'aleph lam', so I guess 'Al' is more proper than 'El'. Also, the Arabic letter 'ص' in "Aqsa" is pronounced a hard "S", the same as the way Sephardim (or Yehudim Mizrachim) pronouce 'צ'. Ashkenazim usually pronounce it 'TS'. Thank you for explaining your choice of the word settlement. However, within the context of Palestinian attacks on Israel, the word “settlement” takes on a decidedly particular definition (i.e. Israeli population centers within the so-called "occupied territories"), and I would much rather there be no confusion as to what Palestinians are attacking. You'll surely agree with me that there is much less support for Palestinian bombardment of Israeli civilians than there is for Palestinian aggression toward the targets more commonly referred to as "settlements."

I know shin is one letter in the Hebrew alphabet, but the "sh" in English is a diphtong and there should be no need to transliterate the shin to SH. Have you seen this convention in any other articles? JFW | T@lk 09:55, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
