Toyoura, Yamaguchi

Toyoura (豊浦町; -cho) is a town located in Toyoura District, Yamaguchi, Japan.

As of 2003, the town has an estimated population of 19,918 and a density of 262.63 persons per km². The total area is 75.84 km². Toyoura-cho is composed of four villages, the largest of which is called Kawatana. Kawatana is famous for its hot springs (Kawatana Onsen) and kawara soba (green tea buckwheat noodles). As of April, 2005, Toyoura-cho has become part of the larger city of Shimonoseki.
