Toyota Levin AE85

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Toyota Levin was a vehicle produced from 1983 to 1991. AE85 designates the trim-level and generation of the vehicle in question. A=the engine type, E=Corolla body, 8=eighth generation, 5=trim level.

The inaugural AE85 model's standard equipment included Toyota's 3A-U carburetor-equipped SOHC motor displacing 1452cc and did not incorporate the limited-slip differential and rear disc brakes of the higher-performing AE86 version of the car. Both trim levels were available in coupe or hatchback form. Because of their identical outward appearance, the two can sometimes be mistaken.
