The Town of Claremont is a Local Government Area of Western Australia. It covers an area of approximately 5 km² in western metropolitan Perth, the capital of Western Australia and lies about 9 km west of the Perth CBD. The Town of Claremont maintains 48 km of roads, 87 km of footpaths and has a population of 8,562.

The Claremont Municipal Council was gazetted in 1898 and on 1 July 1961, became a Town Council following changes to the Local Government Act.[1]
