Tower Park

Tower Park is a leisure complex in Poole, England. It was one of the first complexes of its kind when it opened in 1989, and it still continues to attract thousands of people from throughout the area. It is named for the large, concrete water tower that sits at the top of the hill on which the complex is built. The complex is owned by X-Leisure, a company which currently owns twenty sites in the UK, all of which are similar to Tower Park.

The site's main attractions include a water park (Splashdown) boasting 12 slides, a 24 lane bowling alley - Bowlplex, previously Megabowl. This bowling centre recently had a £1.25m regeneration, with the introduction of many of Bowlplex's sub brands - including The Pool Pit and Video-world. There is also an Empire Cinemas (formerly owned by UCI but as a result of a ruling by the Office of Fair Trading concerning the merger of UCI and Odeon Cinemas the cinema was sold to Empire Cinemas) with 10 screens, and Gala Bingo.
There is also a video arcade, a tanning salon (Sundown), a sweet shop (Stickey Mickey's), a night club and numerous restaurants. These include KFC, Pizza Hut and Burger King. The Burger King was recently rebuilt after having burnt down in an arson attack. The complex has its own free parking facilities. Also onsite is a Tesco Extra which has its own parking facilities.

There was fomerly an ice rink at Tower Park called 'Ice Trax' this was when complex first opened, it had a artificial Volcanoes, but this was replaced by Gala Bingo in the early 90's.

Tower Park has recently gone through a modernisation programme to expand its facilities. This includes a new, larger KFC, 3 restaurants including TGI Fridays, Nandos and Flame; and the recladding of the existing buildings. The new restaurants are partially built on the site of the Splashdown tower and some of the old car park, which have been demolished.

The building work at tower park is almost at completion as all of the new restaurants have been opened. These include Nando's, a portuguese restaurant specializing in chicken dishes, Chiquito's; a Mexican restauarant serving its world famous fajitas, and finally Flame; an all-you-can-eat oriental buffet.
