Tōwa (東和町; -chou) was a town located in Waga District, Iwate Prefecture, Japan. It is currently a branch of Hanamaki City.

As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 10,332 and a density of 65.60 persons per km². The total area was 157.51 km².
[edit] Foreign Exchange
Towa has conducted exchanges with many other towns and cities, starting with Clinton, Wisconsin in 1975. Towa continues the exchange program as a part of Hanamaki City to this day.
As of January 1, 2006, Towa town has merged to become part of the new city of Hanamaki.
