To add the template on an article, add the following code to the top of the page:

All fields other than name are optional, and can be left blank or removed entirely.
[edit] Explanation
- name: The town's name.
- coa: An image of the town's oat of arms can be entered here. Type in the filename; there is no need to include the entire image tag (e.g. Zebbug.jpg instead of [[Image:Zebbug.jpg]]). Image is resized to 75 pixels in width.
- motto: The town's motto.
- official_name: The name of the town that is officially recognised by the Maltese
- inhabitants_name: The name of the people that live within the town.
- other_names: If the town is referred to by any other names, please enter them here.
- map: A geographical map of the town's approximate location can be entered here. Type in the filename; there is no need to include the entire image tag (e.g. Msida map.png instead of [[Image:Msida map.png]]). Image is resized to 280 pixels in width.
- latitude and longitude: The geographical location of the town.
- area: The area of the town in square metres.
- population_total: The town's population.
- population_density: The population density of the town in square metres.
- borders: If the village has its own administrative council, you can state which councils it is surrounded by.
- suburb: If the village does not have its own administrative council, but rather is incorporated into one, this parameter can be used in place of borders'. State the name of the council which the town is located in.
- saint: The patron saint(s) of the village.
- feast: Feast days celebrated by the village. If the village has more than one patron saint, please remember to state which saint is celebrated for on each day.
- website: The local council or village website.
