[edit] Oaks Amusement Park
Oaks Amusement Park is a relatively small amusement park located in Southeast Portland. It has been open for more than one hundred years. It features a roller skating rink, bumper cars, a small miniature train, and a roller coaster.
[edit] The 24 Hour Church of Elvis
The 24 Hour Church of Elvis was a gift shop which operated out of several locations. It was well-known for featuring a street performer dressed like Elvis, as well as various coin-operated machines accessible twenty-four hours a day.
This attraction is no longer open.
[edit] Pioneer Courthouse Square
Pioneer Courthouse Square is a public space in Downtown Portland which features many different events and performances throughout the year. It also has several permanent pieces of art.

Portlandia is a copper repoussé statue located above the entrance to the Portland Building. It is the second largest copper repoussé statue in the United States, eclipsed only by the Statue of Liberty.

Powell's City of Books is the largest independent bookstore in the United States. The main complex occupies a full city block, and there is also a technical bookstore located several blocks east. Open every day of the year, Powell's (unusually) shelves new and used books together.
[edit] Outdoor markets
Portland Saturday Market is an outdoor arts and crafts market which operates on Saturdays (10 am – 5 pm) and Sundays (11 am – 4 pm) March through Christmas. It is the largest market of its kind in the United States. Portland Farmers Market has seasonal plants and foods from throughout Oregon. It operates in three locations:
- Saturdays (8:30 am – 2 pm) April through mid December in the PSU park blocks
- Wednesdays (10 am – 2 pm) May through October in the park blocks beside The Schnitz
- Thursdays (4 pm – 8 pm) June through August near NW 10th and Irving
[edit] Steam locomotives
Portland is home to three steam locomotives: Southern Pacific 4449, Spokane, Portland and Seattle 700, and Oregon Railroad and Navigation 197. For many years after the engines were donated to the city in the 1950s, the three engines were on static display at Oaks Amusement Park in Southeast Portland. Starting in 1974 all three locomotives moved to Oregon's last surviving roundhouse. SP 4449 and SP&S 700 have been restored to operating condition by volunteers to operate in the city and Western United States on excursions. OR&N 197 is currently being restored.
