Touch the Clouds

Touch the Clouds (Lakota: Mahpia Icahtagya), was a chief to the Minneconjou Teton Lakota.
Born sometime in 1836 in present day South Dakota, Touch the Clouds was son of chief Lone Horn, his mother Stands on the Ground, and brother to chief Big Foot. He was a cousin of Crazy Horse, and allied with him in the Sioux Wars. He stood at about 7-feet tall and was known for his strength.
He fought beside Crazy Horse and was with him at the time of his death in 1877. Touch the Clouds spent the reminder of his life at the Cheyenne River Agency until his death in 1905.
