[edit] "No accent" ?? (Under language)

I'm no sociolinguist, but isn't the claim that the Tourangeaux (or anyone) speak French "devoid of any accent" naive? Sure some people believe they have no accent, but they're deluded. Can some linguist rewrite this pls? Coughinink 15:00, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Hey buddy do the research then post a solution. Like you said you are not a linguist, just a guy with a comment

Hello there. I live in Tours and we are said to have no accent, and we pretend it. In fact, as everyone, we have an accent. But the way of speaking french in Touraine is considered as the main way. We you learn french, you learn the way to speak in Touraine, not the way to speak in Calais or Marseille. Désolé si ce n'est pas très clair. En gros, il y a bien un accent tourangeau, mais il est considéré comme l'accent standard du français. FreD 16:51, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

Not relevant to this article, but I went to Tours in 2006 and I thought it was a great place, I'd love to go back again. Mglovesfun 14:40, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
