Toto (cat)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Toto the cheetah cub is one of the many big cats, living in the Masai Mara, to be featured on the TV series Big Cat Diary. His name means ‘little one’ in Swahili. When he was first filmed, it was estimated that he was only 6-8 weeks old, making him the youngest cheetah cub ever to be filmed on Big Cat Diary.
It is estimated that only 25% of cheetah cubs make it to maturity, keeping Toto alive seemed to be a constant battle for his mother. Toto also survived close encounters with baboons, lions and other dangers. Toto's mother was last seen leading him shivering across the plains during a Thunderstorm. Two days after the storm, Toto’s mother was found alive, but without Toto. It has been ruled that he didn't survive.
