Tosontsengel (Mongolian: Тосонцэнгэл) is a sum (district) of Khövsgöl Province in northern Mongolia.

Winters in Tosontsengel are bitterly cold, with average lows in the -30s F and average highs in the -10s F. In very sharp contrast, summers are very mild, with lows in the 40s and highs around 70.

On December 19, 2001, a new world-record high barometric pressure of 1085.6 hPa (32.06 inHg) was set there, surpassing the old record of 1083.98 hPa (32.01 inHg), set on December 31, 1968 in Agata, Siberia. At the time, the temperature was −40 °C (−40 °F), and 51.2 mm (2 in) of snow covered the ground.
