From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Toshi Yano was a founding member of the DC hardcore band Battery, a touring member of The Fiery Furnaces from 2003-2005, playing bass and keyboards on world tours with the band, and a temporary bass player for Franz Ferdinand. A proficient songwriter in his own right, he started his own project, Kapow, in 2005, a seven-piece ensemble including siblings Jay Braun and Justin Braun of the notable Brooklyn-based electro-rock recording collective The Negatones and New Jersey writer and critic Tris McCall. Yano does not play instruments live with the band, instead sharing singing duties with Dustin Arduini.
