Tosa, Kōchi

Tosa (土佐市 Tosa-shi?) is a city located in Kōchi, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 29,941 and the density of 326.90 persons per km². The total area is 91.59 km².

Most frequently, the area of the Kochi Province's formal original name is Tosa, not to be confused with the name of this area. Tosa can mean the province, as well as the rural area that Kochi, Nankoku, and several other towns "sit" on.

The city was founded on January 1, 1959.
