Torrijos, (Spain)

Torrijos is a Spanish municipality of Toledo province, in the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha. Its population is 10,281 and its surface is 17 km², with a density of 604.76 people/km². Torrijos is the center of the "comarca" of the same name.
The mayor of Torrijos is María Mercedes Giner Llorca, of the ruling Partido Socialista Obrero. The Partido Popular has 8 municipal councilors, the Partido Socialista Obrero has 8 and Izquierda Unida has one.
In the 2004 Spanish General Election, the Partido Popular got 53.0% of the vote, the Partido Socialista Obrero got 40.7%, and Izquierda Unida got 3.2%, in Torrijos.
