History
The club was launched in August 2006, under the umbrella of Business for the Arts.
Vision and Mission
The Toronto Arts Scene is a creative hub for young business professionals, in their 20s & 30s, living in the GTA. It's mission is to inspire passion and interest in the arts, while opening doors to participate in the arts through board level volunteer opportunities.
Club directorate initiatives facilitate inspirational encounters with Toronto arts organizations, inspiring passion, interest and understanding of the arts in the city; initiatives are fun, social and educational.
The Club also opens doors to board level volunteer opportunities in the arts, enabling young business professionals meaningful engagement opportunities in the arts, along with valuable career development potential, with access to board level experience.
Members and programs
At this point, most members are part of the Board of Directors. However, several programs already started to operate, attracting small and passionate crowd of young professionals. There are currently three programs that have been established so far: Behind the Scenes, Artsvest and Boardlinks.
Future
Once the directorate gets finalized, doors will be open to a larger group of young professional to experience arts in ways they haven't before, while cultivating an ever increasing passion for the arts. In the long run, it is hoped that the members of the Toronto arts scene, through their nurtured appreciation for the arts, will become tomorrow patrons of the art.
