Toran Darell II

Toran Darell II is a fictional character, part of Isaac Asimov's Foundation Series.

He was the son of Toran and Bayta Darell and the father of Arkady Darell. He was known for his brilliant advances in electroencephalographic analysis.

Together with Pelleas Anthor, Joe Turbor, Dr. Elvett Semic and Homir Munn, he set about using the information to find the Second Foundation, and to eventually destroy it.

He discovered that the mental manipulations by the Second Foundation left a detectable pattern in brain wave activity, called a tamper plateau. Using this, he could detect those people who had been directly affected by the Second Foundation. With Semic, he developed a mind static device capable of protecting against this, and further refined it into a weapon against Second Foundationers.
