[edit] Nixon
"The domestic policies of Richard Nixon were also considered by many intellectuals to be Tory Socialist." While I don't consider this actively misleading—it's basically Chomsky's take on Nixon, for example—I'm skeptical about the specific term "Tory Socialist" having been used with reference to Nixon. Do you have a citation? The term has little currency in the U.S. Indeed, "Tory" has little currency in the U.S. -- Jmabel | Talk 02:06, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
- I didn't even know that Chomsky had also said that! It was very common of the neocons during Nixon's salad days, if not to explicitly invoke the term tory socialism, to praise Nixon as the "American Disraeli" for his domestic policies.
