I have tried to improve the technical accuracy of this article--it still needs alot of work. I did not feel the explanation of how torsional vibration is generated in the crankshafts of internal combustion engines was technically accurate and therefore re-wrote this section.

There was also a section in regards to "dampeners" and "dampers". I agree that the term "dampeners" is not technically accurate, but I did not think it belonged in this section.
