Description

The Norwegian torpedo boat Rap (litt.: "Fast", newer Norwegian spelling: Rapp.), the world's first purpose-built torpedo boat, first built for towed torpedoes, and later fitted with ramps for launching Whitehead torpedoes. An English translation of the text below the image would be: A (and F): Goods, B (and E): Mess/quaters, C: Bridge/manouvering station. Dimensions: 18 m long, 10 tonnes, 15 knots.

No: Verdens første torpedobåt, Rap, bygget i 1873 i England. Lengde: 18 meter, 10 tonns deplasement og 15 knops fart. Maskinen var en 500 hk dampmaskin.
