[edit] Introduction
The top floor of Jessie Montgomery House (part of Duryard Halls, Exeter, UK) has become legendary in the 2005/2006 academic year. The corridor consists of 25 rooms with a split of 12 males and 13 females. In this the final year in which Jessie Montgomery House will be standing, many good times have been and will be had. The corridor is pertioned into 3 different sections by fire doors, it had a light grey floor with cream walls and a black skerting board. Over the many years superficial damage has occured to the walls as the light plaster has been found to be damaged easily.
[edit] Current Residents
The current residents consist of 12 males and 13 females and one can only asssume that they are the most lively bunch of people that have ever resided in the corridor. The females consist of (staring from one end): Michelle, Tina, Claire, Helen, Vicky, Naomi, Helen, Sarah, Charlie, Sonia, Jen, Hattie and Katie. The guys consist of: Ash, Pete, Rich, Ralph, Alex, Mark, Scott, Tim, JimBOB, John, Oni and Michael "Hoggy". Many fun times have been had between these people usually involving copious amount of alcohol.
[edit] Alcohol Consumption
The drink of preference for many of the male residents is that of Sambucca. Sambucca is an alcoholic drink of aniseed origin. Drunk as shot often along with another drink it's effects can be lethal. Many of the females on the corridor drink lots of everything and anything. The biggest and cheapest drinking occasion for the Jessie Toppers are the cider nights. On these occasions a trip to the local Esso garage occurs where a bottle of Frosty Jack is pruchased for £2.60. Each bottle contains 18 units of alcohol and is generally consumed within 2 hours of opening. Drinking starts at 7 and the last member of the corridor usually passes out at around 11. Much fun is had in the mean time but mostly it is not remembered. Recently there has been a new focus of attention towards wine. This to involves buying a while bottle of wine, drinking it, and waiting to pass out (with the help of some other alcohol).
[edit] Regular Haunts
The most frequently visited venue is The Wellington Bar. This is the local pub in the halls of residence. However recently due to problems encountered with staff and the pub closing due to low attendance trips have been less frequent. Other popular venues are the local night clubs Arena and Warehouse. Both have their own unique qualities but both are enjoyable.
