Topock Gorge

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Topock Gorge is a mountainous section of the Colorado River between I-40 and Lake Havasu. Recreational boaters inhabit the area year round, though Spring Break is an exceptionally busy time of year. Topock Gorge is virtually inaccessible other than by boat in this area. Kayakers regularly make this run in winter time with the warm desert climate and a 2-4 mph current to push them along. Paddle time from I-40 to Needle Rock take-out can be as short as 2 hours or as long as 6 depending on the paddler.
